After the sucessful completion of the paralegal training program 2015, SASANE has now announced the notice for the Paralegal Training Program 2016 both in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We have announced the notice in the organization's website and also send the notice via email to all the national organizations working for women and children. We will begin the training program from 2nd January' 2016.
We have already received more than 100 applications from the female human trafficking survivors keen to receive the paralegal training. The number will increase further as we have a lot of women and girls visiting us for information. We will receive the application only till 30 November' 2015. After the application process, the SASANE staffs will move on with the screening process.
The district court of Nepal has certain requirements to be followed for the paralegal course:
i) The person willing to pursue the paralegal career should have a certificate mentioning that the person has succesfully passed grade 10, and
ii) The person willing to puruse the paralegal career should be a citizen of Nepal and should have a citizenship certificate proivded by the Government of Nepal.
These two requirements will be checked in the screening process and further there are other considerations as well which SASANE has for the eligibility in the Paralegal Training Program. They are:
i) The girl or woman submitting the application should be the survivor of either Human Trafficking or Gender-based violence.
ii) The girl or woman having an unavoidable past and is in the risk of getting re-trafficked.
iii) The girl or woman staying alone without anyone to look after.
The application with all these probabilities and issues will be selected to receive the one month theoritical training and six months of practical parakegal training.
