Nepal suffered from a massive earthquake that occurred on the 25th of April, 2015 and 12th of May, 2015. The earthquake killed more than 8,600 people and made hundreds and thousands homeless. Maximum political party offices and other government office buildings are either destroyed or completely damaged making them unsafe to work in. Similar is the situation in the police stations of various locations in Kathmandu and Pokhara where our girls have been working.
Many police stations have been damaged making it unsafe for the police personnels and even our paralegal girls to work in. So medium sized tents have been made and situated in the open spaces. The work of police have been going on in the same tent. Our paralegal girls have also been filing FIRs and other reports sitting in the tent as well with the police.
We are not able to work efficiently and with more confidence as our paralegal girls do not have a house now to live in. One of our paralegal died in the earthquake whereas 5 were severely injured. The trauma of this massive natural phenomemon has not been forgotten by the girls thus effecting their work. Now our organization wants to make a slight contribution in re-shaping the life of the girls after the earthquake so that they can perform their work like they used to earlier.
We would be highle grateful if you would help us in this work of ours. A small effort to bring smile in the face of the survivor paralegal girls would be great.
Thank you!
