This project will strengthen the social and economic empowerment of Indigenous Peoples in South Kivu through training, income-generating activities, and community support. It will help beneficiary households improve their income, social participation, and sustainable access to local opportunities.
In South Kivu, many Indigenous Peoples continue to face social exclusion, poverty, limited access to livelihoods, and low participation in local economic life. Women and young people are especially vulnerable. The project will target Indigenous households to strengthen their autonomy, dignity, and inclusion within the wider community.
The project will provide practical training, develop income-generating activities, support small savings groups, and strengthen the skills of women and youth. Community-based support will also promote social participation, self-confidence, and stronger links with local actors, helping beneficiaries build more sustainable livelihoods.
Over the long term, the project will help reduce economic dependency and social exclusion among Indigenous Peoples in South Kivu. Beneficiaries will gain stronger skills, income opportunities, and mutual-support mechanisms. Women and youth will participate more actively in economic and community life, while households progressively improve their living conditions and resilience.
