Haiti Projects' artisan workshop is a highly sought after place for employment in Fond des Blancs, Haiti. There very few formal job opportunities in the area and many don't pay well, or consider the demands of rural life. The Haiti Projects' employees:
1) have flexible schedules,
2) are paid fair trade wages, and
3) receive professional development opportunities,
Due to the high demand for jobs we keep a running list of women who need jobs. Yet, there is not much turnover among our employees, many of whom have been with HP for 15 + years. So, it is always exciting when we get the chance to offer someone a job.
Meet our newest artisan employee Mondy Poteau. She is in her second month with HP as an assistant. She is focused on quality control: pulling loose threads on finished products, checking for irregularities, putting tags on products, packaging, and tracking inventory. Mondy's salary pays for her son's school expenses and clothing. We need your help so that we hire more women and build livlihoods.
