Haiti Projects has worked this year to increased production capacity for its Artisanat Cooperative in Fond des Blancs. Working with Aid to Artisans through a grant from the Clinton Bush Fund, Haiti Projects invited New York designer, Patti Carpenter, and a production consultant to Fond des Blancs to review the production processes at the Artisanat and to redesign the product line. Haiti Projects also invited two Haitian designers to develop new products for the Cooperative and established a collaboration with Caribbean Crafts in Port au Prince. Haiti Projects showed its product lines at the New York Gift Show this summer for the first time, and launched its new website this fall. Thanks to the generous support of a donor, Haiti Projects just purchased its first vehicle in Haiti making it possible to transport products from Fond des Blancs to Port au Prince, a four hour drive over rocky, mountainous roads.
