Pad sales are soaring!

By Ferry Cadet | Country Director

Carole selling pads
Carole selling pads

We’ve produced up to 14,000 reusable pads since January 2019. While we’ve slowed down on pad production to focus on sales, the women in the community have become increasingly interested in buying our pads, offered at a subsized price. This past month, three of our artisanat women braved the heat and visited four towns on market days to sell packs of 6 pads. And, get this, we sold over 600 packs of pads to women and men. We’ve also had many women stop by or artisanat workshop asking to purchase packs of pads directly from us. Some say they plan to resell them, while others just purchase for their own use. So far, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  We are also planning to hold multiple giveaways in the community to promote the pads and encourage more girls and women to use them. Additionally, we will distribute pads to women that attend adult literacy classes at our library as well as women who visit our clinic often for family planning.
