Reporting Period Update: Continued Support Despite No Project Donation

During this reporting period, Meseret Humanitarian Organization (MHO) did not receive any financial donations through the Empower Destitute Women in Digital & Financial Skills in Ethiopia project. While no project-specific funding was received during this reporting cycle, MHO remained fully committed to its mission of empowering vulnerable and destitute women through sustainable livelihood interventions. Rather than suspending activities, the organization continued providing essential support using its own limited institutional resources and the generous contributions of local community members and volunteers.

This commitment reflects MHO's strong belief that the economic empowerment of women cannot be interrupted because of temporary funding shortages. Many of the women supported through this project continue to face severe economic hardship, unemployment, limited digital literacy, and restricted access to financial opportunities. Interrupting services would increase their vulnerability and reduce the progress they have already made toward achieving self-reliance.

Throughout the reporting period, MHO continued to provide guidance, mentoring, counseling, and practical support to beneficiary women while maintaining close communication with community stakeholders. The organization also continued to encourage women to strengthen their confidence, improve their financial management practices, seek income-generating opportunities, and participate in community-based economic activities whenever possible. These efforts helped ensure that beneficiaries remained engaged and motivated despite the absence of external project funding.

Justification

Although no donations were received under this project during the reporting period, continuing implementation was both necessary and justified. The demand for digital and financial empowerment services remains high, and the women participating in the project depend on consistent support to build sustainable livelihoods. Discontinuing activities would risk reversing previous achievements, reducing beneficiaries' confidence, and limiting their opportunities to escape poverty.

By utilizing its own resources and mobilizing local community support, MHO demonstrated its institutional commitment, accountability, and dedication to serving vulnerable women regardless of funding challenges. This approach also reflects MHO's long-term strategy of ensuring continuity of essential services while actively seeking additional financial support to expand project activities.

MHO sincerely appreciates the continued encouragement and partnership of its supporters. Future contributions to this project will enable the organization to strengthen digital skills training, expand financial literacy education, provide entrepreneurship development opportunities, improve access to livelihood resources, and empower more destitute women to achieve economic independence and resilience.

Despite the absence of donor funding during this reporting period, MHO remains committed to its vision of creating lasting change for vulnerable women and will continue working tirelessly until sustainable support is secured.
