We help displaced women and girls in Goma, DR Congo, rebuild their lives by training them in basket weaving and sewing. Through skill-based training and cooperative support, they gain financial independence, social reintegration, and renewed hope. Our project brings education, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods to those who need it most.
Armed conflict in Eastern DR Congo has displaced thousands of women and girls, forcing them into overcrowded camps with no income, education, or psychological support. Many are survivors of violence, living in trauma and despair. Without access to skills or work, these women remain trapped in poverty, unable to rebuild their lives or care for their children.
We provide hands-on training in basket weaving and sewing, form cooperatives to support production and sales, and offer psychosocial counseling. By equipping women with profitable skills and community support, we help them earn income, regain confidence, and reintegrate socially and economically into their villages and communities.
This project will educate and empower 100 women, helping them break the cycle of poverty. Empowered women become change agents in their families and communities educating children, stimulating local economies, and contributing to peacebuilding. By investing in their resilience, we create sustainable recovery in a region scarred by conflict.
