Dear Donors,
Warm greetings from Yayasan INFEST.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support for our project, Empower Disadvantaged Women with Sustainable Livelihoods. Your generosity continues to help us strengthen the resilience, economic capacity, and collective organization of migrant women and their communities in Indonesia.
Since February 2026, Yayasan INFEST has organized several strategic activities in Ponorogo and Blitar Regencies to strengthen women’s economic empowerment initiatives, enhance safe migration awareness, and support community-based economic institutions. These activities are designed to build both individual capacities and collective systems that can create sustainable livelihood opportunities for migrant women and their families.
1. Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Cooperative
On June 12, 2026, Yayasan INFEST facilitated the Annual Members Meeting of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Cooperative, attended by 60 cooperative members from various regions.
This meeting served as an important forum for strengthening democratic governance and collective decision-making within the cooperative. Members reviewed the cooperative’s annual accountability report, discussed strategic directions for future empowerment programs, and developed plans to strengthen the cooperative’s savings and loan services.
The cooperative continues to play a critical role in supporting migrant workers and their families by providing more accessible financial services and fostering economic solidarity among members. Strengthening the cooperative is a key step toward expanding sustainable livelihood opportunities for women and migrant worker households.
2. Safe Migration Training for Prospective Migrant Workers
To strengthen community protection mechanisms against trafficking and unsafe migration practices, Yayasan INFEST organized Safe Migration Training sessions in two locations:
A total of 67 participants attended these training sessions.
The training focused on equipping facilitators from community-based organizations (CBOs) with practical knowledge and tools to identify migration risks, recognize trafficking indicators, and provide early assistance to prospective migrant workers.
Participants discussed common challenges faced by migrant workers, including misinformation during recruitment, contract exploitation, and weak access to support systems. Through these sessions, facilitators strengthened their capacity to promote safer migration pathways and provide community-level prevention efforts.
3. Business Development Training for Women’s Groups
Economic empowerment remains a central pillar of our program. To strengthen women-led livelihoods, Yayasan INFEST conducted Business Development Training for women’s groups in:
These training sessions focused on strengthening entrepreneurial skills, improving business planning, and identifying market opportunities for women-led microenterprises.
Participants explored practical strategies for developing sustainable small businesses, managing finances, and improving product competitiveness. The training also encouraged participants to build stronger peer support networks and collaborative economic initiatives within their communities.
For many participants, these sessions created opportunities to reimagine economic independence beyond labor migration, opening pathways toward locally rooted and sustainable income generation.
Looking Ahead
Moving forward, Yayasan INFEST will continue strengthening community institutions, supporting women-led enterprises, and expanding community-based protection systems for migrant workers. We believe that sustainable economic empowerment is essential not only for improving household livelihoods but also for reducing vulnerabilities associated with unsafe migration.
Your support makes these efforts possible.
Together, we are helping migrant women build safer futures, stronger communities, and more sustainable livelihoods.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With gratitude,
Yayasan INFEST
