David's Story (2010 Dream Education Program Graduate

By Zadok Huang | Corporate and Foundation Relations

David was a student in ABC's 2010 DREAM Program and continues to stay in touch with ABC through the second year follow-up meetings. We facilitated David's placement into Kro's Nest Reastaurant's one year Management Training Program. Through this, David will become an assistant manager for over 50 staff members.

By the end of the training, David will earn three times the average salary in Beijing. In September, he'll continue his studies and major in tourism. David came from the Lugang Sunshine Home in Henan Province. When asked about his experience with ABC, David said, "ABC's DREAM Program taught me how to be independent. It also helped me to understand that no matter what I do, I have to always have a plan and that I must be diligent in trying to achieve my goals. I feel this trait was one of the most important things that I learned while in the program. I also learned how to get along with others. My favorite memory is when we climbed the Great Wall together with all of the ABC staff and ate together afterwards. When we finally reached the top, it was a great feeling."
