Progress Report on Empower Child Labourers in Need through Education Project
of the Cambodian Children’s House of Peace
September – November 2014
New Academic Year
We believe that only education can make these vulnerable children’s lives better in the future. Education system provided by the government is free, however school supplies and materials are not. School children are required to purchase the supplies or materials by themselves for their study. Since the children at our school partner are not able to afford those supplies our team has worked cooperatively with the teachers and the school support committee to provide those school supplies to them such as notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, school bags and other necessary support to enable them to pursue their education like other children in their community for the new academic year 2014 – 2015.
After providing them with the supplies, we also spent time to visit and provide counselling to their parents to make sure that they value the children’s education and provide necessary support so that their children can successfully complete their education - at least grade 9 of the secondary school as required by the government policy on “Education for Together”. The families and our team were happy to see their smiles and determination to their study. Their family also promised to encourage and follow up their children’s study regularly and the teachers as well to make sure that all the children can cope with school curriculums.
We believe that if we stand together, we never fall. Nothing can stop us from growing. We always hope that they will make a real change in their lives through your generous donations given to our cause for these vulnerable children.
