  Stories from Ground:

Name :  Nomi   (Name changed)        Location : West Bengal

I,  as an Educator, learned how to use  GDD( educational sofware (275 hrs ))  digital content and use of  educational technologies to promote creativity and problem-solving,  bridge  academic  standards, and inspire curiosity in  students.  I learnt techniques including evidence-based reading, purposeful assessments,  and showcasing creative ways to implement the latest innovations in teaching and learning to engage students and accelerate academic proficiency.

21 years old Nomi joined Literacy India in 2016 as a CCA student. She lives in Baghmundi with her father, mother and three sisters. Her father is a Driver and earns Rs. 4500 per month. But most of the amount is spent on her mother’s treatment as she is suffering from Arthritis. Nomi’s father was having a tough time meeting the family expenses.

After six months of joining she completed her CCA course with excellent grade. Literacy India decided to provide her with a Computer to start running the E-Tutor programme. This also enabled her to earn a livelihood.

Finally she has started the E-Tutor programme  with 25 students. Today she is earning Rs.2000 per month and hopes to see greater success over time.

“Now I am self dependent and able to support my family financially.”
