Socio-economic impact of ICT-based initiatives for youth

Post Course Completion:
After completion of course, Chand ram expressed that he wants to start mobile repairing cum software installation & E-Governance initiatives based services center for the community. He identified the location, space and arranged financial support from family to start the business. Literacy india provided him support to set up computer systems to start the business and now it’s in fully operational. This venture not only helped Chand Ram but also the whole community.

Literacy India supported Chand Ram in flourishing his small scale business by providing him a computer. As a result, he is today able to earn sufficiently well. With the help of skills learnt, he is able to down load / install various mobile based application, services, photo making, E-services like e-mitra, PAN card etc. Chand Ram is thankful to Literacy India for letting him become proficient and sufficient to run his family.
Chand Ram is a student of Literacy India’s CCA course. 24-year-old individual lives with his family in a small village Pili Ka Pura in Manohartahana, Rajasthan. His family consists of his parents, wife and three children. Economic condition of Chand Ram was no good post the completion of his class XII. As a result, he could not afford to pursue further education. Also in a village where marriage is done at an early age, it became essential for Chand Ram to start earning in the least possible time.
Things happened in his favour when he got to know about Literacy India’s training courses. This enabled him to acquire a skill set which could help him earn. Chand Ram enrolled in CCA course in center Manohar Thana. The hard working boy was able to successfully complete the course.
After completion of the course, he opened a mobile repairing shop in his village which gave him little earning. But in the times of rising inflation and large family to support, it did not help him much. He required a computer to expand his work. However, was not able to do so in absence of funds. As per Chand Ram “ the Computer training helped me to understand the digital world and stimulated me to think for business for income .
