Computer literacy offered at our centres allows beneficiaries to build careers in IT related fields like BPO Centres, Data Processing Units and lately in UID centres etc. especially in the cities like Delhi, Gurgaon & Kolkata, hence creating entrepreneurs.
Stitching, Embroidery, Beauty Culture, Block Printing, Tie & Die etc enables beneficiaries to get employment in the garment industry or set up their own stitching and tailoring units.
Vocational training in driving encourages beneficiaries to build careers as drivers in the automobile, transport and travel industry or seek self-employment as professional drivers.

Name : Maan singh ( Name Changed) Age : 20
Twenty years old Maan Singh (changed name), a son of scrap dealer lives in the area of Neb Sarai with his family. Earning from father was never enough for feeding the family of 6 members; therefore, he started supporting his father since VI class but never had an interest in the same business nor in academics but inclined towards the technical field. His interest in repairing Mobile phones was much before he started training and he would engage in mending old telephones, which helped in building his aptitude.
Maan Singh failed in IX class and was unable to gather the courage to pursue his education further although he wanted to practice his passion but never got an opportunity for the same due to financial constraints.
Literacy India believes in providing skill training to such youth and help them acquire training in developing skill, in their field of interest to make them self-sustain in the community. Maan Singh got himself enrolled in the six months Mobile repairing training course at project location New Delhi. He regularly attended classes and made himself proficient in the field. On completion of training, he now aims to open Literacy India will provide his shop and support.
He thanks Literacy India for giving him the courage and confidence to succeed.
