Each year POPS publishes a book collection of the poetry, stories, and artwork created by members, graduates, volunteers, and other partners of POPS the Club. This past April, POPS released its eighth POPS anthology from Out Of the Woods Press, Dear Friends. This collection focuses on how club members and graduates dealt with various issues, including isolation and loneliness, during the Covid 19 pandemic. Current club members, graduates, and others submitted multiple works, including poetry, prose, photography, and other artwork.
Along with Dear Friends, POPS has also made previous editions of the anthology available. Dreamcatchers, In the Key of Love, We Got Game, Runaway Thoughts, Cracked Masks, Before There Were Bars, and Ghetto by the Sea are available along with our latest release.
POPS is holding its 3rd annual Virtual 5K in honor of Father's Day and recognition of incarcerated fathers. Participants can walk, jog, run or even skip to help raise money to support our arts-based programs. Participants include staff, board members, students, volunteers, and community partners who will be in their communities between now and June 27th.
