the young changemakers of Sachachorro School are turning environmental education into real community impact. Building on the foundation of their Environmental Club, students are leading a campaign where learning, action, and innovation come together to protect their home, the Amazon.
Recognizing the damage caused by used cooking oil polluting rivers, students have launched a recycling and soap-making project that transforms waste into opportunity. Through interactive workshops, they not only collect used oil but also teach their peers and families how to safely handle and repurpose it. The result: handcrafted eco-soaps made entirely from recycled oil, soon to be sold within their local community.
This initiative goes beyond environmental protection, it’s a living example of circular economy and school entrepreneurship in action. By connecting science, sustainability, and creativity, students are developing essential skills while generating tangible community benefits.
Through environmental education, the students of Sachachorro are proving that meaningful change begins at school and grows stronger when shared. Together, they are protecting their environment, inspiring others, and building a cleaner, more sustainable future for the Amazon.
