Empower 350 Girls in Rural India

“Manshi  feels that no child should have to struggle the way she did just to continue their education. She not only wants to support her family financially but also dreams of becoming a teacher for children who cannot afford quality education, free of cost.”

This year, the Educating Girls, Transforming Lives programme continued to expand educational opportunities for girls from marginalised communities across Bihar and Jharkhand, with a special focus on extracurricular activities development this year. With your support, 979 girls to date benefited from the programme through a combination of direct sponsorship, remedial education, life-skills training, career guidance, and gender-awareness activities.

Key achievements during the 2025-2026 reporting period include:

• 350 girls received direct educational sponsorship, helping them remain in school and continue their studies.
• 629 girls accessed additional academic support through 16 Remedial Coaching Centres, strengthening their performance in subjects such as Maths, Science, and English.
• 11,460 participants were reached through gender-awareness sessions, helping families and communities better understand the value of investing in their girls' futures.
• 8,197 participants took part in life-skills training and 9,172 in career counselling activities, equipping girls with the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to plan for their futures.

Beyond the numbers, we have seen encouraging changes in attitudes and aspirations. More girls are staying in school, progressing to higher levels of education, and participating confidently in discussions about their futures. Community engagement activities have helped create more supportive environments for girls, while local leaders have intervened to prevent school dropouts and early marriages. The accompanying ‘Stories of Impact’ report highlights some of the remarkable girls behind these achievements. 

From students overcoming poverty and family hardship to girls returning to education after dropping out, these stories demonstrate how access to education can transform lives and create opportunities that once seemed out of reach.
