2. Project Status

Since our last report in October 2025, we have faced funding challenges that have temporarily slowed the establishment of new plastic waste collection centers. However, our commitment and readiness remain strong:

• Community Groups: All six groups established under the project—four initial groups and two new groups (Nguvu ya Mama and Green Future Youth)—remain active and motivated.
• Coalitions & Partnerships: The JEMANT Group of seven NGOs continues to promote plastic waste awareness and support our activities, while the TCPN Consortium helps us engage key local stakeholders and amplify our advocacy.
• Youth & Women Engagement: Even without active field operations, community sensitization continues informally through group meetings and local networks. Youth remain committed to participating once resources are available.

3. Achievements and Progress

Despite financial limitations, we have made tangible progress in keeping the project alive and ready for implementation:

• Maintained Engagement: Groups have been trained on waste handling, sorting, and environmental protection, ensuring they remain ready for immediate action.
• Community Awareness: Informal campaigns and discussions have sustained community interest in recycling and environmental responsibility.
• Project Readiness: All operational plans, including equipment lists and collection center designs, are finalized, awaiting funding to resume full-scale activities.

4. Challenges

The project continues to face the following obstacles:

• Operational Funding Gap: Limited funds have delayed the opening of collection centers and the purchase of essential tools (gloves, scales, collecting bags).
• Rental and Infrastructure Costs: Without sufficient funding, we cannot rent spaces or fence sites for safe and organized waste collection.
• Volunteer Retention: Some volunteers are temporarily focused on other income-generating activities due to inactivity in the project.

5. Next Steps and Outlook

With your support through the Little by Little campaign, we aim to:

• Establish the six targeted plastic waste collection centers.
• Resume community awareness sessions and youth training programs.
• Expand collection and recycling activities to generate income for 250 youth and women.
