This report highlights some of our experiences during the past quarter.

Female Genital Mutilation still remains one of the challenges girls face in Kuria ,in this region up to 80% of girls between the age of 9 to 18 years are subjected to Female Genital Mutilation.Girls drop out of school after being cut and end up getting married at an early age.

In the past quarter our walk in menstrual care bank has been able to support more than 300 girls at risk of being cut ,enabling them to stay in school and reducing their risk of being subjected to the cut.

We further supported 5 girls with school shoes and 50 with school dress both in primary and secondary schools. The support has allowed the girls to attend school frequently and have access to basic education.

We also carried out mentorship sessions in primary schools Nyabokarange,St Kizito Primary and Ikerege .These mentorships sessions gave us a platfom to offer training for the girls and to strengthen their voices to be able to demand for their rights. The mentorship sessions has also enabled girls to make healthy decisions on their bodies and lives. We reached approximately 150 girls during the mentorship session.

We have further worked closely with the mothers of the girls in the program by providing them with training on economic empowerment and social justice to strengthen social support system for their daughters, identify and break the cultural barriers to the development of their daughters keeping them safe from harmful practices.

We are so happy to share that the support has allowed many girls to continue their schooling and some of the girls have been able to complete their secondary education and looking forward to joining university.

We are so grateful for the GlobalGiving platform that has enabled us to support vulnerable girls within the Kuria Community and beyond. We look forward to our continued partnership
