By Natalie Tingo | Project Lead
Our report shares our experiences supporting more than 1000 girls at risk of Female Genital Mutilation in the Kuria region, rural Kenya. In this region up to 80% of girls between the age of 9 to 18 years are subjected to Female Genital Mutilation From recent reports from stakeholders the number is suspected to be higher. Female Genital Mutilation is the cutting of the female genital as a way to control the sexuality of girls and is considered a social norm in most communities.
We are currently rolling out various activities we look forward to sharing our progress in subsequent reports.
Please check our social media pages to see all that we are up to. Thank you very much for your support.

Our report shares our experiences supporting more than 400 girls at risk of Female Genital Mutilation in the Kuria region, rural Kenya. In this region, up to 80% of girls between the age of 9 to 18 years are subjected to Female Genital Mutilation. From recent reports from stakeholders, the number is suspected to be higher. Female Genital Mutilation is the cutting of the female genital as a way to control the sexuality of girls and is considered a social norm in most communities.
Our work during this period has involved delivering menstrual care to 20 girls. For every $40 donated, we can provide 10 girls with menstrual care essential that includes (4 packets on sanitary towels & underwear) for 1 month. By providing menstrual care for girls, we can reduce the risk of Female Genital Mutilation by ensuring that girls' education is not interrupted due to missing school due to menstruation.
We thank each one of you for your generosity and partnership. Together we are building healthy & safe communities for girls. We hope our report inspires you, and we look forward to connecting with you online on our social media platforms and offline in our communities.
