The Society for Human Development (SHD) organization has embarked on a transformative initiative aimed at empowering women in District Toba Tek Singh by opening vocational training centers. This program is designed to provide women with the skills and resources necessary to achieve economic self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life through the skill of stitching.
SHD's vocational training centers offer a comprehensive six-month course focused on practical skills development, particularly in sewing and tailoring. The training curriculum includes basic and advanced sewing techniques, entrepreneurial skills, and financial literacy.
The program has not only equipped women with technical skills but has also instilled confidence and a sense of independence. For instance, many participants who were previously dependent on their families now contribute financially, improving their social standing and self-worth. Recently, upon the completion of the courses, the skilled women received sewing machines from SHD to initiate their businesses. 3 of the students received sewing machines and were happy and excited for a new beginning.
Building on the success of the vocational training centers, SHD plans to expand training programs and increase outreach, and we need your continuous support for the project.
