Empower 100 Nigerian Widows through Economic Dev.

Summary
During this reporting period, Buhknom Development Foundation (BDF) made meaningful progress toward improving the livelihoods and wellbeing of widows in vulnerable communities. Despite funding constraints, we successfully implemented empowerment and humanitarian support activities that directly impacted widows and their families.

Activities Completed

Economic Empowerment of Widows
In December 2025, BDF empowered 30 widows through targeted economic support. Beneficiaries received assistance aimed at strengthening small income-generating activities, enabling them to better provide for themselves and their dependents.
Humanitarian Support Distribution
BDF also carried out a relief distribution reaching 53 widows, who received:
Clothing items
Food supplies
Detergents and basic household necessities
This support helped address immediate needs, especially during a financially challenging period for many widows.

Impact
Widows reported increased hope, dignity, and confidence after receiving support.
Empowered widows are now better positioned to sustain small livelihoods.
Relief items helped reduce household stress and improved basic living conditions.

Challenges
Limited funding affected the scale of activities, preventing us from reaching more widows during this phase.

Next Steps
Expand economic empowerment to additional widows as funding becomes available.
Provide follow-up monitoring and mentoring for the 30 empowered widows.
Continue fundraising to reach the full target of 100 widows.
