By enhancing skills of Child Brides is the way to sustainability and empowerment to end Child marriage. Jaag Welfare Movement has established 2 Vocational Center where 45 Girls are getting training. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar (Islamic Festival after Ramzan) these centers were provided raw material and they sewed their clothes themselves. 10 Sewing Machines on each center has provided an opportunity to 20 Girls to learn sewing in Morning and evening batch.
Jaag Welfare Movement has also established a Dresses display center in its office as sale point of these dresses where many dresses are prepared and some sold out on reasonable profit. The profit goes to these girls who prepared these dresses. All girls are happy because they are now with skill to their livelihood and linkage for generating work order from Jaag Welfare Movement.
During the last three months Jaag has conducted several puppet shows and a grand Eid Festival for raising awareness for the new Laws for ending Child marriages. In Grand Eid Festival thousand of people were gathered where message was delivered for stand against the Child marriage. The Grand Eid Festival has also raised some funds for the project.
"I am very Happy to find my new clothes on Eid day prepared by me and this all because of your financial support", said by Sobia, age 15, engaged and will get marry soon. She said, "It is our culture to marry in early age but our parents are now convinced and threatened by new law or panelty of Pak Rupees 50,000/-. to avoid my marriage ceremnoy untill I will be 16". She also said that she want to continue study and getting skill of embroidery. She said, "Now our vocational center need an embroidery machine and hope Jaag will provide it soon".
In 2 Vocational Training Centers, there are 4 trainers who guide other 45 girls for sewing Clothes. Now the advance level is started and manual embroidery is being started.
In Future, Jaag is going to establish 2 more vocational centers in two different villages with decorated Boutique in its office with proper advertisement. The boutique will take order and give work to these vocational centers.
