Knowing that our Puberty Program is taking traction was confirmed by a visit from the Days for Girls Team. They interviewed students who were given their kits 18 months ago to see how they use the sanitary kits and how this helps them stay in school and not miss any days.
They were very impressed with our students and that all girls insist on coming to school and not missing any days. They had a confidence about them and seem to always be top of their class.
CCDO realizes the importance of being available to the girls for general counselling and confidence building. They are taught about gender equality and that they are able to do whatever they want. That education is the key to their success and they should continue to dream big. We are proud that our scholarship class of 23 students has 20 girls and 3 boys.
This is a very high percentage when we realize that there are more boys than girls in school and in the local villages.
Thanks to our constant supporters of this program, we couldn’t have the success without your support.
