Project Report | Mar 12, 2012
Quarter one, 2012 - A great start!

By Jake Gillanders | President

EMPACT has been hard at work already this year!  We continue to make strides, forming a consortium with other NGO's and governmental organizations to make effective EMS a reality in Port Au Prince!  Meanwhile, we've sent several teams of clinical providers to Port Au Prince to provide free or low-cost care to thousands, and we're in the beginning stages of establishing a critical care education program for Haitian nurses.

We've also continued our work with our newly founded Urban Search and Rescue team and we continue to move forward with our other disaster response capabilities.  In February, we held the first meeting of the USAR team and completed some excellent training exercises.  The next is scheduled for March and will be the next component in bringing this team "up to snuff".

Finally, look out for a bit of rebranding in our logo and on our website, all thanks to the valiant volunteer efforts of local photographer, KJ; graphic designer, Philip; and Web developer, Mark.

Thank you to all of our donors and supporters!
