Lebanon Cannot Wait: CVC Emergency Response 2026

By Lynne Taha | Project Leader

Lebanon continues to face a severe humanitarian emergency as ongoing hostilities and repeated bombardments have triggered waves of displacement across several regions. Families who have fled affected areas continue to face urgent needs, including food, water, shelter support, and basic relief items, while many remain in temporary shelters or overcrowded collective centers.

Since the launch of this emergency response project, CVC Charity has been implementing rapid relief interventions to address the immediate needs of displaced families and vulnerable households affected by the crisis. The response has focused on the provision of essential humanitarian assistance to help stabilize living conditions and reduce immediate hardship.

To date, distributions have included baby milk and diapers to support infants and caregivers, hot meals for displaced families in shelters and temporary gatherings, bread and bottled water for daily consumption, food parcels to support household food security, hygiene kits to promote health and dignity, and sleeping kits consisting of mattresses, blankets, and pillows for families lacking basic sleeping arrangements.

Particular attention has been given to vulnerable groups with specific needs, especially infants, children, and women, through targeted distributions of baby formula, diapers, and hygiene supplies. These interventions have been essential in addressing urgent protection and health concerns, especially in overcrowded environments where access to essential supplies remains limited and living conditions continue to pose risks to health, safety, and dignity.

Beyond immediate relief distributions, the project has also contributed to reducing pressure on host communities and collective shelters by helping cover essential gaps in daily needs. The provision of food, water, and non-food items has supported families in maintaining basic living standards while reducing reliance on negative coping mechanisms such as skipping meals, borrowing excessively, or living without adequate hygiene and sleeping materials.

The response has remained flexible and needs-based, adapting to the evolving displacement patterns and security situation. Field teams continue to assess priority needs and target the most vulnerable groups, including children, older persons, women-headed households, and families who arrived at shelters without essential belongings.

The project remains active, and emergency response activities are ongoing as humanitarian needs continue to increase. CVC Charity continues to monitor the situation closely and adjust interventions to respond to emerging priorities and support affected communities during this prolonged crisis.

Thank you for standing with Lebanon during this difficult time—your support continues to make an immediate and meaningful difference.
