The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is not ended yet, and the impact to the global resession especially in developing countries such as Indonesia which millions of people pushed into poverty.
The latest Indonesian government policy, will tighten mobility restrictions in some areas for two weeks starting from Tuesday (June 22) after a rise in Covid-19 cases, including limiting the number of workers in offices and barring religious activities at houses of worship, a minister said.The curbs will apply to ‘red zones’ where cases have been rising sharply this month, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto told a streamed news conference on Monday. The tightened regulations will mean that offices, restaurants, cafes and malls in such areas will only be permitted to operate at 25 per cent capacity.
The ACT Foundation keep continue to distribute the Covid-19 aid distribution especially on the economic empowernemnt program for the backbone families in Bogor - West Java. There were nine backbone families who received the "market stalls" to continue their owned-business.
Some of the beneficiaries called Dewi is a back-bone mother who has been struggling to support her family for daily-income. She has a small-owned-business called "mie-ayam", Mie ayam, mi ayam or bakmi ayam (Indonesian for 'chicken bakmi', literally chicken noodles) is a common Indonesian dish of seasoned yellow wheat noodles topped with diced chicken meat (ayam). Mie-Ayam served from simple travelling vendor carts frequenting residential areas, humble street-side warung to restaurants, and her income is about 50USD per day.
Moreover, Hanafi the family backbone who sells D’Raja Pempek or empek-empek is a savoury Indonesian fishcake delicacy, made of fish and tapioca, from Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia. Pempek is served with rich sweet and sour sauce called kuah cuka or kuah cuko (lit. vinegar sauce), or just "cuko". Sometimes local people also eat the dish with yellow noodles and diced up cucumber to balance out the vinegar's sourness. He got the laid off from the company previously and now he has been selling the traditional food and earn about 70USD per day.
All the beneficiaries hope that by having the market-stalls utilities could improve their daily-economic-income. They were so gratefull to receive the Covid-19 aid from the GlobalGiving donors. Please stay safe and healthy.
