Greece alert! Extreme economic and mental health IMPASS for Greek KIDS & YOUTH

By Roumpini TERZAKI | Project Leader

Panic in the sky. Santa Claus needs gifts for kids
Panic in the sky. Santa Claus needs gifts for kids

Dear friends,

we urge all ! over Greece, thousands of families are currently living under extreme psychological, social, and even worst is the economic impass. The after-Covid period found 60% of professionals jobless. Violence against women and kids has overpass any limit, as the invasion of different nationalities enter without any control all of our frontieres.

The corruption of the Parlienment affected all laws, justice and economical scandals raise up everty day that humiliates our kids and families..Narcissistic abuse becomes a rule in schools, jobs.

Many of these families are affected by narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and long-term psychological trauma, which silently erodes their ability to cope, protect their children, and access support. They already are in front of an economical disaster.

For these families, crisis is not a moment — it is a constant condition.

Without immediate intervention:

  • mental health deteriorates rapidly,
  • family structures collapse,
  • children are exposed to chronic emotional harm,
  • social isolation deepens.

OUR RESPONSE: EMERGENCY RELIEF PACKAGES

Reaching 4,750 Families in Immediate Need

Project H.U.G. is deploying Emergency Relief Packages that combine humanitarian aid with psychological stabilization — because survival and mental health cannot be separated.

WHAT EACH EMERGENCY RELIEF PACKAGE INCLUDES

1 Essential Humanitarian Support

  • Basic food and household supplies
  • Hygiene and dignity items
  • Emergency family necessities

Purpose:
To reduce immediate stress and restore a minimum level of safety and stability.

2 Psychological First Aid

  • Trauma-informed emotional support
  • Validation and recognition of psychological abuse
  • Crisis-oriented mental health guidance

Purpose:
To stabilize families emotionally and prevent further psychological collapse.

3 Family Protection & Guidance

  • Practical guidance for parents under coercive stress
  • Child-focused emotional protection strategies
  • Safe pathways to ongoing support within the H.U.G. network

Purpose:
To protect children and strengthen parental capacity during crisis.

4 Connection to Long-Term Recovery

  • Referral to H.U.G. support groups
  • Access to psychoeducational resources
  • Entry into structured recovery and resilience programs

Purpose:
To move families from emergency survival to recovery and reintegration.

WHO WE ARE helping?

The 4,750 families include:

  • Families under psychological coercion or abuse
  • Single parents in crisis
  • Households with children exposed to chronic emotional stress
  • Families facing social exclusion and breakdown

These families are often invisible to traditional aid systems because their crisis is psychological as well as economic.

SO WE ARE READY TO FACE MUCH MORE FAMILIES,

AS WE CREATED tje H.U.G. NETWORK GATHERING ALL OF THE FORCES OF NPO s WORKING FOR
