Summary

On August 26, 2026, flash floods caused severe destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and downstream communities, damaging homes, roads, bridges and power infrastructure. IFRC identified immediate needs including emergency shelter, drinking water, relief items, first aid and health support. UN reports indicate that roughly 10,000 households need immediate relief. Challenge

Flash floods struck Rasuwa, Nuwakot and downstream communities in Nepal on August 26, 2026, destroying homes and damaging roads, bridges and power infrastructure. Thousands of families have been affected, with many displaced and in urgent need of food, safe drinking water, shelter and healthcare. Children, women, older people and people with disabilities face greater risks as affected communities struggle to meet basic needs following the disaster.

Solution

Clarion Times is mobilising donors across Africa and around the world to provide emergency relief for 1,500 flood survivors in Nepal. We have contacted local NGOs familiar with Rasuwa, Nuwakot and downstream communities that can receive international transfers and deliver assistance to affected families. Donations will fund food, shelter and healthcare. All funds received will be accounted for, with local partners providing photos, videos and reports documenting the distribution of relief.

Long-Term Impact

This project will help 1,500 flood survivors meet immediate needs while they recover from the disaster. Access to food, temporary shelter and healthcare can reduce hunger, illness and health risks among displaced families. Working with local NGOs will also help affected families receive assistance from organisations familiar with their communities. Where funding permits, support may continue beyond emergency relief to help families replace basic household items and rebuild their lives.
