Within days of the earthquake hitting Nepal, our partners from the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology have been providing emergency relief supplies to the hardest hit, rural areas.
Dr. Suman Thapa and a team from Tilganga provided 1,000 families in the Sindhu district relief packages, which includes rice, lentils, salt, and water purification liquid.
In the Bhaktapur municipality, Himalayan Cataract Project co-founder Dr. Sanduk Ruit, and a team from Tilganga, distributed three tons of rice, 250 kg of lentils, hundreds of packets of noodles and sugar.
Dr. Rojit Saiju and a team distributed emergency relief packages to 1,000 families in the Nuwakot district, and in the Dhading district Dr. Reeta Gurung and a team distributed relief packages to another 1,000 families.
The work continues as the demand increases for more of Tilganga's support to rural districts.
