HELP UKRAINE - Humanitarian relief in Chernivtsi

We are very happy to send you an update from the field.

In the last months of 2023 the local association worked a lot with schools and people living in different villages and small cities of the Chernivtsi region.

The local association continuedthe distribution of food and hygiene products to the poorest and disadvantages families. They reached 200 Internal Displaced families, and 100 local families with disabled children.

Besides this the association supported more than 40 people with the distribution of medicines.

A very special attention has been given to children and students from different locations with the distribution of school supplies, stationery, the organization of sporting activities (basketball, volleyball, handball, table tennis) and film and cartoon shows.

Moreover, art therapy workshops with a psychologist were organized for mixed groups of children, including those with disabilities at the Kitsman Culture House.

In another school in a small village, activities with the a speech therapist for 40 beneficiaries, aged 6-8 years, were organized to support language difficulties.

And also, a cooking workshop for 24 students aged 6-15 years, that both children, young people and parents as well, really liked. Divided into groups of 6, the students prepared traditional Ukrainian dishes, especially baked goods. This activity allowed the children who come from distant villages and who have to wait until late afternoon for the bus to return to their homes, to carry out a fun activity in a warm place and also have the opportunity to have a snack. A waiting list to participate in the workshop was created and we are going to support the activity also in 2024.
