Tthanks to your contribution and in cooperation with the local association Dobri Liudi Bukovinu of Kitsman (Chernivtsi) we were able to support the Ukrainian population in need, both displaced people and resident people living in difficult situation.
Due to the continued presence of displaced people in Chernivtsi region, the local associatin have continued the distribution of humanitarian goods (food and non-food items). Besides this, non-displaced population in situation of poverty were also included in the distribution. According to IOM data, there are approximately 108,000 Internally Displaced People currently hosted in the region, which represents one of the safest and most strategic points for the displaced population and residents, as it is close to the border area with Romania. The situation of need is extremely high, with approximately 73,000 non-displaced people and 121,000 internally displaced people who need help.
During this summer period food and non-food humanitarian items were distributed:
- Food products to 300 families (200 IDP families, and 100 local families with disabled children)
- Hygiene products for 300 families (200 IDP families, and 100 local families with disabled children)
- Medicines for 100 beneficiaries (children with disabilities, old people and women)
- Clothes to 33 beneficiaries (IDP adults)
- School supplies and stationery to 150 children (aged 6 -13 years).
Besides this, recreational, movie and cartoons projections and sport activities were organized for children 9-13 years old and adults, in different places for 62 beneficiaries.
Despite the local situation has recently worsened due to new attacks and increased military presence in the territory.this difficulties, we are willing to continue our support for the population in need.
