Dear friends, greetings from Ukraine!
We have some fantastic news to share with you. Remember a story about Misha* – a curious, kind and polite 4-year old boy who was looking for a new family? Thanks to our project, which you kindly chose to support, Misha’s dream of a new Mommy and Daddy came true.
After 6 months of staying with his short-term foster parents, on April 29 2014 Misha started a new chapter of his life, in a new family. “All pieces of the puzzle have finally come together,” - says Larysa, a project worker. “On one hand, we had a little boy who was praying each night to find a permanent loving home. On the other hand, there was Anya and Sasha, a lovely couple, professionally trained and highly motivated parents who wished to help children with complicated life stories like Misha. From the moment they saw each other, the chemistry was palpable, especially between Misha and Sasha, his new Dad.” They both adore rollerblades, cars and painting. They both were desperately looking for each other: one was dreaming of a Dad, and another one was hoping to find a child he could call a son one day.
Thanks to your donations the project continues its life-saving work: protecting children in need, offering them love and care, restoring parents’ capacities or, in some instances, finding new loving families for children in need. To be able to continue helping children in Ukraine we will need your support – which we heavily rely on and are so sincerely thankful for. It takes less than $10 to provide accommodation and food for children like Misha for 1 day. You could also help us by telling your friends and family about our project - share the link on your blogs or social networks, use the tell-a-friend feature on the project page to email your network, or just bring us up in conversation.
And as for Natalia and Anatoliy – Misha's short-term foster carers who are enabled to work because of this project, they have already started to care for another less fortunate 18-month-old boy called Boris. We are looking forward to sharing further updates with you and thank you all again for the happy ending.
