Tropical Cyclone Ditwah has devastated Sri Lanka, triggering severe floods, landslides, and widespread destruction. Over 2.18 million people are affected, 286,377 displaced, and more than 75,000 homes damaged. Safety centres are overcrowded and families lack food, clean water, medical care, and safe shelter. With 990 deaths and 209 missing, vulnerable communities urgently need life-saving support.
This project will deliver food packs, clean water, hygiene kits, medical aid, and temporary shelter to displaced families. Cash assistance will be provided in the most affected areas, enabling households to meet urgent needs with dignity. By supporting safety centres and host communities, the project helps prevent disease, stabilizes families, and supports early recovery.
This project will help flood-affected families in Sri Lanka rebuild their lives by restoring stability, improving health, and preventing long-term hardship. Cash support and essential relief items will reduce economic stress, while clean water, hygiene, and shelter assistance lower future risks. Strengthening community resilience will support recovery and help families prepare for future disasters.
