Embrace Friends --
We have had an exciting first couple of months in 2014! Many of our program sites in India have seen an increase in the number of infants using the Embrace infant warmer, as well as an increase in side-by-side education sessions for mothers on how to practice Kangaroo Mother Care (skin-to-skin contact between a mother and baby to manage hypothermia) to keep their infants warm at home. With this positive feedback from the local communities, we are currently strategizing our expansion to additional clinics and hospital in new districts with great need. This careful planning will help us reach our goal of nearly doubling our number of program sites in India by the end of 2014.
The Embrace India team had a wonderful visit recently from Neha, a Global Giving team member. Neha traveled to the Raebareli District in Uttar Pradesh where she visited a few of the Embrace program sites with guidance from the Embrace Raebareli Site Coordinator, Yasin, and Raebareli Site Educators, Sundari, Firoj, Preeti, and Shilpy. Neha had the opportunity to speak with the health care facility staff and local families, and she had to opportunity to see an infant be placed in an Embrace infant warmer at Khiro Community Health Clinic. By the end of her visit, Neha remarked at how happy she was to see such easy-to-use equipment functioning in these government health care facilities.
With your support, we can continue to help impact the lives of mothers and infants most in need.
Warm regards,
The Embrace team
