Embrace Friends -
Thank you for helping us expand our reach and impact throughout India during 2013. We have seen incredible growth with our programs, both with expansion to new healthcare sites and increases in the total number of infants we are able to serve.
With your generous and continued support, Embrace partnered with 53 new healthcare facilities in India during 2013. We established programs at 11 sites in Karnataka, at 11 sites in Uttar Pradesh, and at 31 sites in Rajasthan. We hired 2 new Site Managers and 4 Site Educators to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate training and education at each of our program sites, and to serve as liaisons with the surrounding communities. We employ local teams with deep ties to the communities we serve, who speak the language, know the customs, and understand what it takes to implement each program successfully.
Thanks to this incredible programmatic growth, in 2013 Embrace reached over 9,393 low birth weight and premature infants in India. Our dedicated Site Managers and Site Educators provided intensive one-on-one education on hypothermia and newborn health to over 2,653 mothers, family members and health care workers.
We have set our sights even higher for 2014. Our goal is to more than double our current number of program sites in India and significantly increase the number of newborn infants helped.
With your continued support, we are confident in our ability to reach our ambitious goal in 2014.
Warm regards,
The Embrace Team
