Empowering Girls with Confidence and Dignity

By Ann Ngunjiri | Communications Officer

Dear Partner,
We have a beautiful update for you—because the impact you’re making by supporting our Menstrual Hygiene Management program isn’t just visible; it’s truly transforming the lives of many underprivileged schoolgirls.

Since April, we have been back on the road, making sure girls have what they need to manage their periods with dignity. That means a full year’s supply of sanitary pads, plus the support and education that help them feel confident.

Just this quarter, we distributed pads to 1,039 girls and educated 8,914 students in the adolescent stage across 81 schools. Thanks to you, these girls no longer have to choose between their education and their menstrual health. Our data shows that providing annual pads has reduced absenteeism by 35%—a huge step toward keeping girls in school.

One girl who has benefited is Ann Nyawira from Mukui Secondary School. She shared with us  how life-changing access to pads has been:

“Before HopeCore, I would stay home and feel ashamed. Now, I go to school every day, feel proud of who I am, and I can focus on my life. I’m happier, and I know my future is bright.” — Ann

Ann lives with her elderly grandmother, who raised her with love but limited resources. When she started her period at 12, she had no one to guide her and couldn’t afford pads. Every month was a challenge, and she often missed school.

Thank you for being part of this life-changing journey. Because of you, we are reaching more girls like Ann every day. As we look to the future, we hope you will continue standing with us, so we can bring dignity and opportunity to even more young girls.

With all our gratitude,

Ann Ngunjiri,
Communications Officer
