At Cedar Village in Mason, Ohio, we strive to create the highest, most innovative and engaging programming for our residents. Through generous donations including those made to Enriching Lives of Elders via GlobalGiving, we were able to purchase a customized, state-of-the-art computer system that empowers residents to connect, engage and enjoy life through the benefits of today’s technology. The system, It’s Never 2 Late (IN2L), provides our residents with activities, internet access, and therapy. The IN2L has enhanced our recreation programming immensely. We use it daily for our large group activities and one-to-one visits. With so many residents having some form of dementia, we are seeing many, who normally do not engage and interact, participate in activities which have helped them rediscover long-lost passions and interests. As one resident, Maynard, walked us through his childhood neighborhood, you’d have thought he no longer had dementia. His reaction to being back on those streets was, “This gives me my life back.”
