Project Overview

During the holy month of Ramadan 2026, the Egyptian Food Bank continued its mission to combat hunger and support vulnerable communities across Egypt through the Ramadan Feeding Program. The initiative aimed to ensure that low-income families had access to nutritious food throughout the month, enabling them to observe Ramadan with dignity and security.

Through the generous support of donors and partners, the program successfully distributed Ramadan food boxes containing essential food items to families experiencing food insecurity across multiple governorates.

Program Results

With the support of our donors and partners, the Egyptian Food Bank distributed food boxes containing staple food items carefully selected to meet the nutritional needs of beneficiaries.

The program reached vulnerable households across urban and rural communities, including:

• Low-income families
• Widows and female-headed households
• Elderly individuals with limited income
• Families with persons with disabilities
• Households affected by economic hardship

The distribution process was implemented through Egyptian Food Bank's nationwide network of accredited community organizations, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and equitable access to assistance.

• Ramadan Boxes: 270,571 Ramadan boxes reached families in need with essential food support.
• Ramadan Tents: 41 tents Serve iftar and Suhoor meals and engage with the community
• Free Mart:178,803 families Empower beneficiaries to choose what they need most
• Tekyet Al-Mahrousa: Provided hot meals daily in underserved areas with a total number of 439,640 meals
• Iftar Meals: 907,228 meals have been distributed from Egyptian food bank’s central kitchen to all locations
• None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters.
