Dear Friends of Enhance Worldwide,The statistics are staggering. An estimated 39,000 child marriages every day. Globally, over 60 million girls are out of school. In Ethiopia, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 71% of women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Violence against women and girls is a global epidemic and Enhance Worldwide is working to eradicate it!The United Nations Campaign UNiTE to End Violence Against Women had proclaimed the 25th of each month as Orange Day, "a day to raise awareness and take action against violence against women and girls." For us, every day is committed to making the world a safer and more empowering place for women and girls. This July marked our third annual summer school program. Our team recognizes the summer break from school presents acute challenges to safety and wellbeing. With the girls and young women out of school risks for child marriage, trafficking, child labor, and street violence escalate significantly.Within our summer school program, girls continue to receive support services from our field team, ensuring a safe, healthy, and dignified break until school resumes. As a participant shared, "I loved summer school because I felt safe."With summer coming to a close, our field team received a request from the community to accept an additional 10 girls to the Kinship Care Program. Direct sponsorship and general donations ensure these children will have the resources and skills they need to succeed in the classroom. We hope you'll join us in enhancing the strength and wellbeing of girls and women worldwide!Thank you for standing up for girls!Heather
