First of all, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Global Giving for their support in our efforts towards educational empowerment of poor and neglected children. Also, we would like to thank our donors for their trust in our work and their whole hearted support towards strengthening our efforts.
Now, we would like to take you through the highlights of the completed quarter of the present academic year and let you know the recent developments. Our students are engaged in lots of things besides academics. They often go for educational trips to know more about the education they get in their classes.
On 26th September 2018, our students got a chance to visit ISRO/NRSC as a part of India International Science Festival- Open Day Celebrations. Our students of 7th class got an opportunity to experience this. During the trip, our students have learned in detail about Indian space, remote sensing and Bhuvan-Indian Geoportal. They listened to the lectures, watched videos, and explored the exhibitions watching satellite images, understood satellite application potentials and Antarctica ground station work. They also got an opportunity to meet few scientists under the ‘Meet the Scientist Programme’ and view satellite data displayed on globe.
An eye checkup camp was organized with the help of Lions Club International on October 5, 2018. It was an important camp so as to ensure that students do not suffer in academics due to their sight weakness. Around 23 children were detected to suffer with defective vision (myopia). Accordingly, they were provided with suitable spectacles for the rectification of the same.
On 11th October 2018, our 40 students from class 5, 6 and 7 were selected for a visit to Telangana State Forest Academy. It was consciously planned to create an interest among students towards while making them understand the importance and need for the protection of forests so as to maintain ecological balance.
