Army attack prompts mass exodus from Magwi County South Sudan.
Regime troops – slaughter villagers like mammals as thousands flee when Pajok came under attack. Over 6,000 people have fled from Magwi County South Sudan into northern Ugandan according to the UN Refugee Agency. More inhabitants are still hiding in the bush trying to find their way to safety in Lamwo district of Uganda.
We are purchasing more 10 bags of cement to make interlocking soil blocks. In the previous update, it was reported in stock we had: 12 galvanized metal sheets, 25 bags of cement, and a timber cutter machine that your money helped to buy but not yet delivered to the project site.
Due to increase military and rebel activities in Magwi County, it’s nearly impossible to reach Omilling. Also, there is ethnic cleaning between Dinka and Nuer which is worse than ever.
Nevertheless, our team continuously monitor the uncertainty on the ground. Also, they evaluate the option to deliver the materials and resume school construction. Presently, the political environment in South Sudan threatens the life of our staff. For this reason, the operation in the country is suspended until the security situation improves.
In a next field update report, we will post a new field report to inform you of the changing from the ground and the influence of your contribution.
