With your financial contributions, four classrooms had been built in Omilling. This project still ongoing. We will be building as soon fund becomes available!

While first world countries promote the progress of education, third world countries continually have to put more emphasis on the rudimentary necessities of life which can result in a lack of emphasis on education.

The newly independent South Sudan offers such an example. As a country in conflict, the humanitarian aid has been focused on food, shelter, and healthcare.

Humanitarian organizations such as Hope Ofiriha, UNMISS, Trolltech Foundation and Journeyman International are helping to fill the voids in regards to education, especially for women and children who make up the majority of the victims, refugees, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

With the help of Hope Ofiriha, the Omilling village in Magwi County, South Sudan will be receiving a new school that will help educate the children.

Students will no longer have to make an eight-hour round trip trek on foot through the wild bush to the nearest primary school 70 kilometers away. The dangerous terrain between the village and nearest primary school prevents almost all families from letting their children make the trek attend the school due to the risks.

The new school will replace the current temporary two-room twig shack that currently lacks even a basic pit latrine. The new educational facility will provide several classrooms, teacher’s homes, toilets, administration space, and a school kitchen for 1,200 students and eight teachers.
