Thanks for your recent generous donation to Educate Children and Fight Poverty in South Sudan.
Only months ago an alleged coup in South Sudan has left hundreds dead, and many in the region concerned for what the coming months may bring for the world's youngest country.
During the production at Omilling, we had one machine on site producing up to 500 bricks a day with a team of 2 men. The soil excavated from red marram was used to make the bricks. Francis stabilized block specialist with the community made 33,100 interlocking soil blocks with a mixture of soil, cement and water compacted with a manually operated machine. The benefits were actualized in the school’s beauty to two already built classrooms, the skills passed on, the productive use of soil and the firewood saved.
With your contribution the soil blocks have been produce enough to build six classrooms. Francis, and the community have really worked hard to reach the intended target before next rainfall starts.
This project is still far away from completion, but the progress is good indeed. Building two classrooms in a year helps in completing the project in the end. In the next quarter a new field update be sent, so that you know what your contribution is helping from the ground.
