Thanks for your generous gift to Educate Children & Fight Poverty in S. Sudan.

Your commitments to help the needy get out of poverty are appreciated by our Team and those who will benefit most – the children!

Current donations are totaling $ 8000, and fundraising is still far from reaching the goal. This is worthwhile cause, and the beneficiaries are eager to see this project progressing.

The project activities are placed on hold because there are no funds available by time of submitting the proposal, and no money was forthcoming in the first year when it was posted to donors. The project also faced difficult time to attract donors between 2009/2010 due to current recession.

In a third quarter of 2011, and second/third quarters of 2012 the project attracted donations from GlobalGiving community, which came in small amount monthly slightly higher than in 2010/2011. We believe this project can be implemented in 4 to 6 years if the trend continues.

The trustees and Omilling Traditional Authority decided the project should first make 75,000 interlocking soil blocks, while fundraising is on-going with major donors.

The project purchased 200 bags cement, and 50 pieces of iron sheets for roofing. It has also made 1500 soil blocks, and this activity will continue when cement are available. Soil blocks are ideal to produce during rainy season as they need much water for curing. The major building activities will take place at a later date when enough funds are raised, and building materials secured.

Until this project is fully funded we will be sending you quarterly field reports. You will get to know what your donation has helped impact and what we have achieved.
