Give 2300 Colombian Children a Reason to Smile

During the last three months the Foundation has had a lot of movement!

In October, the children´s month, our kids enjoyed special community activities to celebrate halloween. They had a lot of fun dressing up in costumes, dancing, and sharing their creativity and lots of candy. The boys and girls were proud to demonstrate what they have learned in they classes with their neighbors. 

In late October, the entire Formula Smiles team traveled to the city of Bogotá to hold its annual management meeting. Teachers and social workers from each of our projects and the staff from our administrative office in Bogota gathered to review the year´s achievemnet and plan activities for each area in 2013. Thanks to everyone´s cooperation, we met our goals for each day of the meeting and are now ready to begin a new year of working for our kids. 

The children enjoyed from various tournaments and championship during this period. Thanks to their effort, discipline and effort,the girls from the mini basketball and peewee indoor soccer were champions in both categories in the "Coldeportes Superate con el Deporte" tournament at a municipal level.

The third Inter-foundations games of the Peace and Soccer Alliance took place in the city of Cartagena in November, where our children from Ibagué had the opportunity to travel to Cartagena, enjoying from the experience of getting on a plane, seeing the sea for their first time, and sharing with children from different foundations of Colombia. More than 150 children from a total of 10 foundations had fun playing soccer while learning about fair play and gender equality in workshops that emphazised female empowerment and positive masculine values. Our children demonstrated their commitment towards fair play; our team placed second place!
