Give 2300 Colombian Children a Reason to Smile

A lot has happened in the Ibague’s project! It has been a period full of technology, culture, nutrition and health.

LG and Formula Smiles Foundation have joined forces in an Alliance linking the foundation to this technologically innovative company’s corporate social responsibility projects.

LG demonstrated the company’s commitment to the children of Colombia; the company provided special shows for more than 300 children in our Ibague project in the neighborhood of “Nuevo Armero”. The show consisted in taking LG’s latest 3D flat screen TV’s to the Ibague’s Project and giving the children the opportunity of watching the movie Toy Story in 3D; taking this experience to a whole new level.  Not only did they watch a 3D format movie, but they also received popcorn, juice and a giraffe stuffed animal; the children’s enormous smiles demonstrated the success of the activity!

We have also surprised our children with a day enjoying delicious “Boggy” Jell-o thanks to the donation from Alpina, a dairy and food production Colombian company. “Boggy” is not only exquisite, but also nutritious; in this activity the children received a lecture emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet along with a healthy lifestyle.

The surprises don’t end! One of the schools we support “Raices del Futuro” organized a Cultural Week where different cultural scenarios were practiced within various activities; they organized dances, plays and sport activities that involved different cultural habits. Within this environment a basketball tournament was held and Formula Smiles’ teachers were the ones who structured and held it, it was a different week that enhanced a dynamic education.

Formula Smiles is constantly emphasizing the importance of health habits therefore we organized a day of vaccination in which the government’s Health Body went to “Nuevo Armero” neighborhood and vaccinated 20 children with vaccination they needed.

Thanks to our donors we are able to provide our children with different activities that become big smiles! It has been a period full of surprises, and there’s so much more to come!
