REBUILD globally is off to a great start for the new year, 2016! On Monday, January 18, school in Haiti reconvened from the holidays, and our students went back to work with an invigorated spirit and commitment to their education. Each one of our students continues to thrive thanks to their regular tutoring and extra-curricular classes that the Elev Program provides.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude that the generous support of this program has allowed us to start the new year with 37 students in the Elev Program. It is because of generous donors and supporters that we can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable Haitian Youth, and prepare them to become the best resources for Haiti and the world.
Our proudest moment of 2016 thus far, has been in the review of our students’ report cards. Not only are all of our students achieving passing grades thus far (in a country where only 30% of students pass their national exams), but three of our students are actually at the very top of their class!
This level of success is truly extraordinary, and proves with the right kind of investment, we can in fact provide the tools necessary to lessen poverty’s powerful grip.
We are infinitely proud of Lovely, a Junior in our program, of Bellynice, a Freshman in our Program, and of Kenol, an 8th grader in our program for their tremendous success of achieving valedictorian status in their classes this semester.
Thank you so much as you continue to provide the educational support necessary to achieve this level of impact in our community, and to ensure that we can continue to provide these resources for the remainder of the school year.
