Spring has been busy for our team in Haiti! As you may know, one of the unique parts of our model at REBUILD globally, is to offer graduates of our Elev Education Program job training and a guaranteed job at our for profit partner, Deux Mains (www.deuxmains.com) This is particularly important in a country that has nearly 80% formal unemployment!
This month, we began the 2021 round of Job Training for two trainees who recently graduated from our Education Program. Alberson and Wenson started their first day with orientation and a tour around the Deux Mains factory to learn more about the different processes that take place.
Throughout the program they will spend time learning from these six departments:
This training not only provides the participants with a cursory knowlege of all the departments, it also helps us see which department is the best fit for them. This way upon completion of the training program, we can offer them a job we know they will thrive in.
Both Alberson and Wenson have also already joined our tuition matching programing for their studies. Alberson is studying IT and Wenson is attending a trade school for window installation in hopes of joining the family trade some day.
