In Haiti, education remains a big challenge for the majority of the population. This school year 2017-2018, the national success rate for the senior year was 29.54%. We are so proud of our children, that took the national exams and passed at a 75% success rate!
It was such an honor to celebrate this victory with a graduation party! Because of generous contributions of donors like you, throughout the year, we offered tutoring sessions to our children, which helped them to be very successful in their class and in their exams! Two of our graduating students, Vachon and Mahana reported that without the tutoring sessions, the exams would be very difficult for them, and because of the tutoring; they had chance to understand all the subjects and exercises that they did not understood in their class. In addition, Vachon claims, "Most of the challenging questions and exercises that I practiced through the REBUILD globally tutoring sessions with the help of our tutors, were on the national exam! The exercises were difficult for so many students, but came easily for them!
Our three graduated, Mahana, Vachon and Gael has moved forward and taken the next step in their life as they will begin to select a University, and join REBUILD globally's Lavi Training Program in January. The Lavi Program will where they will take important job training modules that will lead to a guaranteed job with our for-profit partner, deux mains designs.
Thank you so much again to you all our donors, we could not make this impact in our children’s lives without your support! We began the school year in October with fresh energy and excitment, and have added 5 additional slots to our Education Program, which now supports a total of 40 students! We can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
